This is a pencil sketch of Suko from Green Corner. The model for the pose was Andrew, of FDF.

I thought this was a very interesting pose and instantly thought of Suko for this one. I plan to use this as a basis for a future vector illustration.

I know there’s a little awkwardness with his right arm and hand, so I’ll try to fix that in the digital. I’ll probably make some adjustments to the clothing as well. It was tricky to approximate the folds in some parts, so I’ll work on them some more.

  1. I like the change on the nose and mouth. The overall illustration from the crisp pencil drawing to the vectors is very clean and nicely done. I wonder though if there should be more wrinkles in the shirt and pants to keep it all from looking too stiff. Very nicely done!

  2. Thanks, glad you like it. I made the changes to his face after I rotated the image and noticed some awkwardness. I didn’t really intend for him to look depressed, but the original lines were kind of making him look that way.

Because it’s a piece that I add colours and shading to, I limit the lines somewhat. The shading helps the folds to pop a little more. If I were to only be doing lines, I would definitely add more.

I have the colour version as a vote incentive on TWC right now, I’ll be adding it to my art blog when I change the incentive (I just need to draw something else to replace it with!).

    Thanks for the comment 🙂
