Where else can I see your art?
For my graphic design and illustration work, you may be interested in my
online portfolio.
I also post a mix of illustration and graphic design pieces to my deviantART account. It is the
only place you will see fanart that I've done, as I don't really do that anymore. Green Corner specials are also posted
there.
On my art blog, I regularly post notices of Green Corner updates and make progress posts for the specials. You can subscribe to my art blog in a feed aggregator, or use Blogger's "follow" feature by adding the URL to your reading list.
I sell prints of my work online on my Bubblesite. If you would be interested in seeing additional prints available please send me an
with your request. I also sell T-shirts at Mysoti, please let me know if you would like to see particular illustrations available on T-shirts.
What is the Update Schedule?
I don't keep a set schedule for
Green Corner. This means that the time between updates varies, but I try to update every one to two weeks when possible. This also means that when I have extra time, I update more frequently.
If you want to be notified of updates via e-mail, please join the Midori Forest Group. Only Green Corner related notices are posted there and past posts are publicly viewable. If you prefer to be notified in your feed aggregator, you can subscribe to my art blog, which includes posts unrelated to Green Corner. My art blog posts are also repeated on Twitter if you prefer to follow me.
Which other comics do you recommend?
I don't currently read many comics online, but there is a
list of some of my favourites
on
OnlineComics.net
(they may not all be fantasy comics).
Can I Link to Green Corner?
Please, feel free to promote Green Corner. I appreciate every link. I have provided a couple of link banners below if you would like to use them. If using a banner, please save a copy to your own online space. If you don't have webspace, try a photo sharing site.

Will Aena break down and beat the crap out of
Zalanda?
Although Aena has
the speed to be able to tire her out if she wanted; Aena isn't likely to try physically
hurting Zalanda because she admires her. Their relationship used to be different,
but Zalanda started to be hard on Aena when she thought it would help Aena to
push her boundaries and improve herself (which it did, but there were obviously negative effects to their relationship as sisters). Zalanda is also quite protective of Aena. Having gone through a painful romantic breakup
herself (she was dumped by Barudo), she tries to prevent Aena from getting romantically
involved with anyone, because she doesn't want to see Aena's heart get broken.
She fears that if someone breaks Aena's heart, Aena may change for the worse.
The truth is – Zalanda generally likes Aena's personality, as is.
Is Suko significantly older than the other boys?
Initially, I considered Suko to be more “mature” and reserved
as part of his personality. Suko is 18 and in his final year at the high
school. His friends, Xico and Mazai are in the same
year of study as Aena (meaning they're probably 16).
How tall are the characters?
My characters are life-sized. Alshina is about my height, 5' 8". Zalanda is
6 feet tall. Barudo is even taller.
Do humans exist in Green Corner?
Humans do exist, but there aren't many living in Midori Forest. Few magickally gifted, or at the very least magickally
perceptive, humans are around; but don't expect to see many non-pointy-eared residents.
I am considering having some of the characters disguise themselves
as humans and going to a human area. Having the characters attend an anime convention
as themselves might be amusing.
Will Suko hook up with any of the girls?
It will take Suko a while to actually date, or even so much as confess to,
any of the available girls. Zalanda is still hung up on Barudo, despite her flirtatious
behaviour with other guys. Zalanda seems to cling to Suko and excessively
flirt with him (you'll see that more as the story progresses) – but it's very
superficial. Aena doesn't realize that, of course. However, she's also intensely
gullible. Suko finds Zalanda attractive, but only at a distance. He's not
interested in being more than friends with her. Basically: “she looks
nice, but she's scary.”
There is a particular girl Suko likes (and his friends know who she is), but
you'll have to keep reading to find out who she is. There will be hints
in the story before he openly confirms her identity.
Zalanda acts as a barrier between Suko and girls. She knows
Aena likes him, which makes her flirting with him appear rather cruel, but she
has her reasons. One of which being that she secretly hopes Aena will give up
on him.
Where are the wings?
When I first created
Green Corner; I was going to give all the characters
wings. I wanted them to not be flimsy, little, decorative wings. I think wings should seem like they're in proportion to the figure.
Otherwise, it doesn't seem like there's much point in having them.
I chose not to include wings regularly as they would complicate character interactions .
Will the wings show up when they fly?
I considered only showing wings when they fly (which is not often).
I think flying would be rather tiring for them, considering the weight the wings
have to carry, the control they need to have for direction, etc. Magick in their
world is something that only works as long as they concentrate, flying will work
in a similar fashion. Thus, they can't fly if they're unconscious. Flying would
also demand a fair amount of energy for long travel. And not all of the characters
are particularly athletic.
Where do they keep their weapons?
There are some (magickal and non-magickal) weapons that characters regularly
carry around. Barudo keeps a set of throwing daggers inside his jacket. Suko has
a sword, which he can't carry all the time. He is pretty
good at physical combat though, so he won't need to worry about that too much.
Zalanda has to physically carry a quiver of arrows and a bow when she wants
to use them. In her tight clothes, she wouldn't be able to physically hide much
of anything.
However, there is also the option of hiding things with magick and the possibility
of magickally calling and transporting weapons to their current location if they
can't physically get to the weapons in a reasonable time frame.
What are the after-effects of using magick or flying?
There is a necessary rest requirement, which differs by character. For
instance, Aena is very fast. She learns quickly, moves quickly, heals quickly.
This also means she can be impatient at times, because she's so energetic. But
she'll be able to recover the fastest, even after straining herself.
Why did Barudo break up with Zalanda? Is he a jerk? Is she bitter?
Barudo has a number of reasons for breaking up with Zalanda. The big one is
a spoiler to be revealed later in the story. All I'll say is that it's genetic (meaning that Kasha
has the same "problem" of sorts). Unfortunately, since he is so strong, it complicates
his genetically imposed condition, which contributed to his decision to end things
between them.
Barudo can be a bit of a jerk, but he can also be very polite and proper.
Of course, if you cross him, he'll beat you to a pulp; those muscles aren't just
for show.
It will be some time before Barudo finally reveals to Zalanda his reasons
for breaking up with her. How she'll take it, you'll have to wait and see. As
it stands, Zalanda is VERY bitter about the whole thing, partly because she doesn't
believe the reasons he gave her at the time. She has a tendency to start an argument
with him nearly every time they come into contact with each other. Especially
if it's not accidental contact. Since he broke it off, Zalanda has decided that
men are basically interested in her for her body alone, so she won't bother getting
emotionally attached to anyone else.
